A night-night prayer

(Originally published by Nattie on September 01, 2003)
Every night when I tuck the kids in, we say our night-night prayer. Here is a sample of the prayer…
“Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

“God bless, Mommy
(Insert anyone else they want to bless–such as Nana, Papaw, Mamaw, Nanny, Pappy, etc.)
“Thank you, Lord for…” (and this is where it can get really interesting; it could include one, none or all of the following)…
* clay
* Wiggles videos
* library books
* marbles
* crayons
* paper
* toy guns
* church
* vacation bible school
* ice cream trucks
* treats
* park
* yogurt
“…in Jesus’ name we pray,
I wish you could hear the inflection in their voices especially if I forget something!

    LOL. My kids have been known to thank God for the walls, the fan, the mini-blinds… Can’t beat grateful kids. Gah, I miss Nattie.
